Even if Oyster Easter didn’t benefit the Community Resource Center, I would still tell you it’s the best party of spring and maybe the whole year.
It’s at beautiful Travellers Rest, which right now has the most spectacular blooming Tulip Poplar in all of Nashville.
It has a scrumptious Cajun buffet by South Street with all the oysters you can eat, jambalaya, ribs and more. The better to soak up all that alcohol. Did I mention alcohol is involved?
This year we’re going all local with the wine and beer — wine from City Winery and beer from Blackstone. And then there’s the oyster shooters (beware of downing more than two of these vodka-soaked oysters) and spirits from Angel’s Envy (along with cigars from Crowned Heads). Am I a walking billboard for our sponsors? Well, yes I am and I say that without a moment of regret. We love these people.
And lots to do in between bites and sips. There’s the annual Hula Hoop contest, jammin’ music and this year a new addition — an adult Easter egg hunt. No chocolate bunnies in these eggs. We’re talking an adult Easter egg hunt.
But the absolute best part about Oyster Easter is watching the candidates for King and Queen work the crowd. Check out our fabulous candidates on our Oyster Easter royalty page.
Oyster Easter is March 26, 1-5 p.m. at Travellers Rest. Buy your tickets here. Hopefully, the Drunken Peeps will be back.
